Each year Hammond Street Congregational Church has been an enthusiastic participant in Pride Week.  For years, Associate Pastor Greg and his husband, Mark, have spearheaded the effort, not just for HSCC but also for organizing the Bangor parade.  This year, Greg was recognized for his efforts.   Our resident banner maker, Audrey, created the colorful banners for the sanctuary and Mark and Greg brought God’s Doors to life.

Pastor Mark happily occupies “the throne chair” in a truck bed for those who don’t walk the entire parade route.  Many from the congregation, gay and straight, participate in the parade, special service, and the information table extending the invitation of the hymn we sing each year,” All are welcome in this place.”
