“ . . . Our purpose is to support the programs of the church, further relationships between members, and to serve the cause of Christ in the community and throughout the world.”
An Executive Board focuses on education, fund raising, mission/outreach, and worship. Two smaller groups, the Coffee Group and the Evening Group, offer informal programs. Throughout the year, the Executive Board organizes many events. These include the church fair, indoor yard and bake sale, dinner programs, and a spiritual growth retreat for women.
The Women’s Fellowship supports the physical and financial well-being of HSCC, contributing directly to the church operating budget and to fundraisers like the Organ and Lift Projects. In addition, we support the United Church of Christ’s Pilgrim Lodge camp program, as well as other missions like the Sea Coast Mission and area shelters. Many of the improvements to the church kitchen and large vestry have been funded by the Fellowship.
As the interests and needs of the Hammond Street family change, the Fellowship looks forward to adjusting our focus, activities, and outreach. Last year our retreat honored our 60 year history, looked at the present, and talked about future goals and expectations. We invite input from the congregation and friends on how we can grow and better serve our church and community.
Upcoming events are listed in the Sunday bulletin, The Hammond Streeter, and at the HSCC Facebook page. All are welcome at our meetings and activities.
