We support the needs of the community in several ways each year. Each May we hold an Indoor Yard Sale where people can buy good used clothing (coats to shoes) for $1 to $5 and some may be as little as a quarter. While they are shopping, they can take advantage of all the dishes, bowls, vases, coffee mugs, pots, pans, pillows and bedding for matching prices.
Winter clothing is available from November through March at our Free Bean Lunch on the first Saturday of every month.
Right after Thanksgiving a Winter Warmth Tree takes its place in the Narthex until the end of January. Members of the congregation hang new socks, hats, mufflers, packaged underwear on the tree or under it. All the items collected are distributed to the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter and Shaw House, a shelter for homeless teenagers.
