Note: Although housed and supported by HSCC at 28 High Street, Bangor, the Bangor Food Pantry is an independent unit serving BANGOR RESIDENTS ONLY!   ID IS REQUIRED AND ALL CASE MANAGERS MUST SHOW PROOF OF CLIENTS BEING BANGOR RESIDENTS ONLY.  NO DELIVERIES.   Hours of operation are Tuesdays and Thursdays ONLY from 9:30 am to NOON with the exception of certain holidays and school snow days.  If the Bangor Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Bangor Food Pantry is closed.  If you would like to donate, please email the Bangor Food Pantry directly at:  bangorfoodpantry@gmail.com.

The Bangor Food Pantry is supported by seven local churches and housed at Hammond Street Congregational Church and has been serving the hungry citizens of our city since 1975.  We are grateful for the love and support that comes from this community and to the other churches and organizations which have supported the Bangor Food Pantry over the years.

There are two ways to donate to the Bangor Food Pantry:

  • Food— We especially appreciate pasta & sauce, peanut butter & crackers, cereals, powdered milk, baked beans, canned tuna, tuna or hamburger helper, canned fruit, small sizes of ketchup, relish, and so on.  When donating any canned food, please try to bring pop-tops only as some of our clients do not have access to a can opener.  If you enjoy eating it, so will others and appreciate your thoughtfulness in donating.
  • Please do not give any food that are past their expiration date.
  • Money— Any donation is welcome.  Every dollar that we receive can buy up to six pounds of food, that translates into about eight meals.  Occasionally a matching grant occurs for the purchase of cloth bags or other items to help run the Bangor Food Pantry and we encourage participating in those events.  We also appreciate any cloth reusable grocery bags. (Please No Paper Bags)

We welcome your help and thank you for your continued generosity.
